Direct-mail campaigns
A campaign in the mailbox, not just a flyer at the printer.
We run direct mail as one complete campaign: underwritten before it is designed, built for response, produced correctly, mailed with documentation, and tracked all the way to the phone call.
The campaign plan is free and carries no obligation. We ask who you are, your trade, your service area, a budget range, and how to reach you — and if the math doesn’t work in your market, we say so.
Ironwood Roofing · 6.25 × 11 in EDDM flat · 111# cover, uncoated · specimen — fictional client, FPO fields set at production
The deliverable itself: offer forward, proof beside it, and a next step readable at arm's length.
The piece, annotated
This is the deliverable. Everything else on this page exists to make it work.
Ironwood Roofing is a fictional company and this is an illustrative deliverable, not a client result — the phone number and web address on it are reserved test values, and the underwriting figures further down are invented to show the format.

Offer block— front of the piece
A written commitment with a date on it, printed where it cannot be missed. The offer decides the response, so it is never buried in fine print.
Tracked number and QR— front of the piece
A phone number used by this campaign and nothing else, plus a scan target. Both are live and tested before a single piece is printed.
Proof points— back of the piece
Four reasons a neighbor picks this company, in the order a homeowner actually weighs them.
Postal area— back of the piece
Indicia block and route-addressed block. This half is not design space — it is what makes the piece mailable.
The indicia shows the PRSRT STD class marking with bracketed city and permit fields; a real piece carries the Post Office and permit actually used for that mailing. We build your piece to the USPS specification in force on your order date, not to a spec we memorised once.
Most direct mail fails before it is printed.
Weak offer, wrong routes, no way to measure the response. By the time the pieces are in a mailbox, every decision that mattered has already been made — usually by a printer who was asked for a price, not for a plan.
So we work in the opposite order. The math comes first, then the offer, then the routes, then the piece, and the tracking is live before anything goes to print. If the numbers cannot work in your market, that is a finding we hand you rather than a campaign we sell you.
What’s included
Everything between ‘we should do mail’ and a report you can read.
- Campaign underwriting
- We model break-even jobs, required response rate, and acceptable acquisition cost against your real economics before recommending spend.
- Offer & message strategy
- The offer decides the response. We design it around your highest-margin work and your capacity — not around what looks nice on a postcard.
- Direct-response creative
- Copy and design built for the three seconds between mailbox and recycling bin: clear promise, clear proof, clear next step.
- Print production
- Print-ready files with correct bleed, postal specs, and paper stock — proofed and QA-checked before any order is placed.
- Mailing coordination
- USPS entry handled and documented. You see evidence your pieces entered the mailstream, kept with your campaign record.
- Tracking & reporting
- Dedicated tracking numbers, QR codes, and landing pages live before the drop. Plain-English reports with every figure labeled by source.
The math, upfront
We underwrite a campaign like an investment.
Before you approve anything you see the assumptions in writing: what the campaign costs, how many jobs cover it, and what response rate that requires. Here is the shape of that math, with invented numbers. Every figure is labeled as client-provided fact, calculation, assumption, or estimate — and estimates are never guarantees.
